Distribution

Product supply is through retailers and direct mail order. Export is to more than 40 countries. We welcome inquiries and orders from anywhere in the world. Orders can be placed by credit card.

History and expertise

Origin Live has developed turntables, tonearms, amplifiers, loudspeakers, cables, and support stands. This wide expertise gives a holistic design approach which translates into products that are very system-friendly. How did such diverse expertise come about?

Origin Live was founded in 1986 by Mark Baker, a music enthusiast who is also a natural innovator and designer. His enthusiasm translated into designing and building a wide variety of Hi-Fi equipment which has proved remarkably successful. The first product manufactured was a solid core Hi-Fi cable – one of the first of its kind, if not the very first. This was followed by a range of award-winning Hi-Fi isolation tables, then speaker stands and turntables. The decision to launch a range of loudspeakers followed three years of research and development. Over the years the company has grown steadily and now distributes its products through specialist Hi-Fi dealers in the UK and to more than 40 countries worldwide. Products can also be purchase by direct mail order and a no discount policy is operated.

Locality and Factory

Origin Live is based in the UK at Southampton, which has a great history of innovative engineering. The city boasts a considerable number of record-breaking achievements, from the early Schneider airspeed trophies to the building of the first gas turbined high-speed craft. The Schneider trophy-winning planes formed the basis of the Spitfire, which was designed and built in Southampton and became one of the world's most famous aeroplanes. This rich heritage has been passed down to a number of high quality local firms.

Production

Product development, assembly and quality control are all performed in-house. Much of the component manufacture is subcontracted to firms with excellent track records for quality and value for money.
