The Gram Amp 2 Communicator phono preamp will give an output of 400mV with a medium sensitivity moving magnet cartridge (4.5 to 5mV). Gain is X84 (38.5dB).
Intentionally, its gain is slightly on the low side which makes it most suited for use with medium to high output moving magnet cartridges. This also makes it an ideal phono preamp for the DJ whose disco records can give a much higher output - its lower gain means there's less chance of clipping (overload) so higher volumes can be achieved with reduced speaker wear. This is a truly excellent performer for the money and one would be hard pushed to better it.
Add the PSU1 option for significant further improvement - with it's much larger transformer you benefit from gains in bass weight, dynamics and resolution. The PSU1 is listed as an option when ordering.
