Dynavector mc mm cartridges

Dynavector cartridges are very popular with those who want a highly musical, balanced sound. They are clear and transparent, yet also have the warmth and body in the bass that is less apparent in other cartridges. The dynamics and timing are excellent and always produce an enjoyable listen.

Back in 1975 Dynavector was the first company to design and manufacture in volume a high output moving coil cartridge, and in 1980 the revolutionary Karat range of cartridge was introduced using solid diamond and synthetic ruby cantilevers of only 2.5mm length for the first time. This design enabled audiophiles to enjoy subtleties in the original recordings which previously they had not realised existed. Today, Dynavector's confidence in the superiority of analogue over digital sound presents a challenge to improve moving coil cartridges still further to enable them to comfortably outperform CD. With the introduction of flux damping and softened magnetism (patents applied) it has become possible to eliminate the harshness and irritating edginess which previously has been common to all moving coil cartridges.

  1. Dynavector-10x5-mm-high-output-moving-coil-cartridge

    Dynavector High Output MC 10X5

Dynavector 10x5 mc ( for mm moving magnet input ) cartridge

    UK orders only

The Dynavector mc (mm input) 10x5 cartridge is so good that it has been described in one review as "the only game in town". This reputation is well earned! The cartridge is highly neutral and will work well in most systems and tonearms. The musical character of the Dynavector is a delight with its warmth and body in the bass along with exceptional clarity and musicality.

Because the moving coil gives a high output of 2.5mV, the Dynavector 10X5 can be used with mm (moving magnet) inputs. This is a tremendous advantage if you only have don't have a phono stage in excess of £600.

The Dynavector 10X5  debuted in 1978 winning the prestigious Design and Engineering Award at the Chicago CES in both 1978 and 1981. The 10x5 now features the dynavector cartridge unique magnetic flux damping and softened magnetism (patent) along with powerful Neodymium magnet.
The 10x5  also features a newly designed Aluminium head block to provide a rigid platform for the cartridge motor. Tapped holes for the headshell bolts makes mounting the cartridge a breeze and a decent stylus guard also helps.

  2. Dynavector-20X2H-mm-high-output-moving-coil-cartridge

Dynavector 20X2 (High or low output)

The Dynavector 20X2 is a moving coil cartridge offered in high or low output versions. Dynavector gained a reputation 20 years ago for producing affordable high quality moving coil phono cartridges. Many music lovers were introduced to the advantages of moving coil  for the first time through Dynavector ownership. A major factor was the availability of high output Dynavector's designed to work with mm inputs so saving the expense of having to change electronics to suit a low output mc. Dynavector's crucial breakthrough was to design a coil winding machine capable of working with extremely fine wire so giving a high output to mass ratio.

  3. Dynavector Karat 17D3

    Dynavector Karat 17D3

This is a low output dynavector cartridge with a diamond cantilever. The Dynavector 17D3 Karat  Diamond is the first cartridge built using 'dispersion' theory. Its Micro-Ridge  stylus and very short (1.7mm length) solid diamond cantilever give a reduction in 'dispersion' along with improved high frequency extension all they way up  to 100KHz.

  4. Dynavector-Moving-Magnet-Cartridge-XX2-MK2

    Dynavector XX2 MK2

This is a low output dynavector cartridge with a Boron Cantilever.  The XX-1 was the first cartridge to feature the 'magnetic flux damper' (patent) and softened magnetism (patent) processes that reject the magnetic fluctuation that is detrimental to a mc cartridge performance.

    Dynavector Te-Kaitora Rua

This is low output cartridge uses a Titanium head with silver wire and a Boron Cantilever. The maori name gives away the fact that the Te Kaitora Rua is a collaboration between Dynavector New Zealand and Dynavector Japan. A titanium headblock is used for lightness and rigid construction. The Te Kaitora Rua has a 6mm solid boron cantilever fitted with  a Pathfinder  line contact stylus the coils are would out of very fine silver. a compliance of 10CU and weight of 8.8 grams make it compatible with arms from Origin Live, Rega, Linn, Naim, SME etc.

  6. Cartridges-Dynavector-DRTXV-1S-moving-magnet

    Dynavector DRTXV-1S

This is an innovative Design of Magnetic Circuit. The XV-1s has a unique magnetic circuit. This comprises 8 small AL-NICO magnets.  The magnetic path is then divided into two - In the magnetic gap, a specially  designed magnetic flux equalizing piece is placed. Then on the front yokes,  magnetic stabilizing coils are wound. This produces a more linear magnetic  filed than in existing mc cartridges.

    Dynavector DRTXV-1T

A silky smoothness is added to the musical reality which the XV cartridges have previously exhibited and as a result each instrument, performer or group is clearly imaged with a warm and rich presence. Dynavector believe that this emotive musical experience cannot be achieved by a digital source and with the XV-lt they have created a "Super Analog World".
