"And the winner is the Origin Live illustrious, a pick up arm that is quite simply breathtaking. It's ability to display a three dimensional stereo image is above criticism, as is it's transparency and lack of artiface. It also has amazing tonal accuracy, which lets the "flavour" of each instrument or voice flood out of the speakers. This is the respect in which it was most obviously superior to the SME........On any deck - OL, Michell, Notts Analogue, Clearsudio - this is surely the best. ......The Illustrious' performance befits its name alright, bringing almost all of the fluidity of the best unipivot with vastly improved grip and incision."

"Combining the sonic virtues of both unipivot and gimbaled bearings in a fuss-free package, it should work exceedingly well with a wide variety of cartridges and turntables. It is certainly the best all-around tonearm I've ever had in my own system. Highly recommended!"

"The sound is very dynamic and always effortless, with the silent background the performers seem to appear out of nowhere. This is what analog is all about! The bass isn't overdone as some other tables are (i.e. VPI), but everything is very well balanced in tonality. Very natural while always rich and engaging." "The best money I have spent on high end audio in years. I listened for seven hours dragging records out of my collection (with a pause for pizza and red wine), old records, great records, and terrible records. The difference in every case was incredible. Records that I thought were so very dull just came alive. My complements."
