The Reference 200 has a feature list that covers all the essential ingredients required to integrate and MJ into any audio system. The on-board microprocessor provides for extensive management of this feature set. Due to its small 300mm square cabinet size, Reference 200 can be tucked away into the smallest of areas. 250mm Ultra Long-Throw sub bass driver, digitally accurate crossovers, multiple inputs, high-level cable, M8 spikes, the Reference 200 is amazingly well equipped and ready for the most demanding movies and the most detailed bass lines.

Many so-called ‘full-range’ loudspeakers cannot reproduce the low bass frequencies found on most music and movie discs, these frequencies are necessary for the accurate reproduction of the original recording to impart the natural ambience of a real life recording. When present, it is immediately recognisable by listeners as being closer to ‘the actual performance’. Of course, movie DVDs incorporate a dedicated bass channel for bass special effects, these being just as described, “special effects” to be precise LFE (Low Frequency Effects). LFE should not be confused with the bass frequencies present in a normal full range sound signal being presented to the main full range speakers. A properly designed sub-bass system will not only reproduce these bass frequencies with accuracy, it will also augment the output of conventional stereo music with very low-frequency bass that is felt rather than heard. The result is greater audiophile fidelity in the lower and mid-band range. A system with a wider bandwidth will always sound more realistic and ultimately more entertaining, stimulating and engaging.

The success of the Pro 100Mk2 cabinet design made the Reference 210 a natural progression. It takes an established platform and adds the missing link that projects the model into a world class Reference Grade Audio product and establishes itself at home underpinning the most accomplished audio system.  It doesn’t matter whether it is a pair of small stand mount speakers in a 2 channel stereo system or largest of floor standers. All parts of this models have been specially designed to position the Reference 210 firmly in Reference Series line-up. New driver elements such as spider and coil, new main CPU motherboard and separate amplifier to handle the increased power delivered to the driver and ABR assembly are just some of the areas of development undertaken.

MJ Acoustics has been associated with a large sound from a small cabinet since the company started. From the dedicated circuit boards that make up the crossovers and main processing units to the individual power amps that power each of the perfectly matched opposing drivers. The build quality alone is unsurpassed, with each cabinet being meticulously constructed, damped and finished in real wood veneer.

Topped off with a toughened glass mantel, which has hand polished edges and blacked across the back to produce a mirror-like finish across its surface. Fabricated from the Highest Quality MDF ensuring the core cabinet construction is super strong. Delicately finished in the customers choice of luxury real wood veneers or custom bespoke colour in either Satin or High Gloss paint. Carrying over this exquisite attention to detail, even the plinth is coated in a High Gloss multi-layer paint.
